SUBJECT: PE Group - Increment Date
It has been brought to our attention that with respect to the PE Group, two different methods of assigning increment dates are currently employed by various departments and/or agencies across the Public Service either: i) the appointment anniversary date or ii) the first Monday following 52 weeks.
To ensure the uniform application of the PE increment date across the Public Service, effective immediately the PE increment is to be administered in accordance with that applicable to the PM Group of the PA collective agreement.
Please note that where the increment date has been calculated based on the anniversary date, the new increment date will be calculated in weeks from the date of the last increment and will take effect on the first Monday following 52 weeks. Where the increment date has already been based on weeks, there is no change to the existing practice.
