Subject: Compensation Standard Benefits Letters and New
Chair
This message is to provide an update on Compensation Standard Benefits
Letters. The latest figures indicate that more than 400,000 visitors use
the Web site each year. We thank you for your support. During the past year
all "Taken on Strength" letters have been revised and several new letters
were created under that heading. We are now working on updating "Termination
of Employment" letters, which account for some 38 letters on the menu. We hope
to finish these reviews by the end of this fiscal year. This
will be followed by a review of "Temporarily Struck Off Strength" letters.
We very much appreciate your comments and your contributions to maintaining
the quality of a very useful tool. In order to ensure the timely
updating of letters, it would be preferable that all comments or suggestions
from compensation advisers be sent to their supervisors. We have found that
some comments were erroneous and referred to interpretations.
Supervisors should forward comments to their departmental compensation manager
who will ensure that the comment is properly related to updating of a letter
and not to an interpretation. Departmental managers will forward any
required changes to us.
If you are using letters that are not located on the HR Connexions Web
site, it would be appreciated if you could send them to us in order that they
can be posted on the site.
I would like to express my thanks to Hélène Desforges, Policy Analyst,
