SUBJECT: Head of the Public Service Award
On December 11, 2000, 20 Head of the Public Service Awards were given to
individuals and teams, for a total of 205 recipients from across Canada. This
award is distinctive because all public servants are eligible. The criteria
reflect the priorities of the Clerk of the Privy Council.
We are seeking your assistance again this year in launching the annual
nomination process for The Head of the Public Service Award. You will find
enclosed a letter signed by Mel Cappe, Head of the Public Service, which invites
all members of the Public Service to participate in proposing nominations. All
nominations must be sent directly to the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
You will also find enclosed a nomination package, information on the award, and
a sample of an article that may be adapted for publication in your departmental
newsletter.
Please ensure that each member of your organisation receives a copy of Mr.
Cappe's letter and its attachments. Information on The Head of the Public
Service Award can also be accessed through the Internet at: http://publiservice.tbs-sct.gc.ca/
organisation/hr-rh_e.asp. The deadline for nominations is June 22, 2001.
