SUBJECT: Take Our Kids to Work 2001
The Take Our Kids to Work program is organized by The Learning
Partnership, a not-for-profit organization of business people, educators, and
community leaders committed to creating challenging learning and career
opportunities for young people.
Over the past 7 years, more than 1 million students and
75,000 workplaces have participated in the Take Our Kids to Work
program. The program offers an authentic learning opportunity for grade
9 students and helps them connect school, the world of work, and their own
futures. It provides them with a real-life experience in a work environment.
This year Wednesday November 7 has been designated as Take Our Kids to
Work day across Canada. We encourage all federal organizations to welcome
grade 9 (Secondary 3 in Quebec) students in their workplaces and to
continue to support this worthwhile initiative.
