Applying for a travel document

Submitting your application

To avoid any delays, ensure that you have included all the following with your completed travel document application form:

• a proof of immigration status in Canada,
• supplementary identification,
• the photos signed by the guarantor,
• The official receipt for fees paid (IMM 5401) or, if applicable, a copy of the refusal letter if you have applied for citizenship,
• the required fees, and
• BOTH labels (PPTC 220),
• a valid travel document, if applicable.

All documents submitted with your application for a travel document must be originals, unless clearly indicated otherwise; photocopies will not be accepted.

Use of a certified courier/traceable mail service will reduce the delivery time of your application and ensure the safety of your documents.
