Applying for a passport

Submitting your application

To avoid any delays, ensure that you have included all the following with your completed passport application form:

a proof of Canadian citizenship,
supplementary identification,
the photos signed by the guarantor,
the required fees, and
any valid travel document, if applicable.

By mail

Use of a certified courier/traceable mail service will reduce the delivery time of your application and ensure the safety of your documents.

Canadians residing in the United States who plan to submit their application form in person in Canada may complete the application for Canadians residing in Canada or the application for Canadians living in the U.S.
