Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)

Businesses can get one-stop service at Business Windows in most Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) offices. Service is offered at the counter, by telephone or fax for the four Business Number (BN) accounts (i.e. corporate income tax, import/export, payroll deductions and GST). Business Window staff can also put business clients in touch with the right contact for other CRA business programs.

Eligibility Criteria

Anyone can use this service.

Summary

New businesses may register for all their Business Number (BN) accounts at one time, under one roof. Existing businesses can easily open additional accounts once they have a Business Number -BN.

Through the Business enquiries service channels, the CRA staff can answer questions and provide details about business accounts, including account balances and recent payments.

If information about a business changes, such as the address or telephone number, just call BN staff to update the account at 1-800-959-5525 .

Quebec

In Quebec, the Ministère du Revenu du Québec (MRQ) handles GST enquiries for Quebec clients on behalf of the CRA. They can be reached, toll-free, at 1-800-567-4692 or on MRQ Web site.
