Workshop 16 Nov 2006
"Communicating the Business Case for Sustainability"
Workshop

Date: Thursday, November 16th, 2006
7:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Place: Candle Room
Atrium Building
111 Research Drive
Saskatoon, SK.

Bob Willard, author of The Sustainability Advantage and The Next Sustainability Wave, will discuss how businesses are responding to the "perfect storm" of market forces from customers, investors, employees, legislators, banks, and insurance companies to embrace social and environmental responsibility. Until recently, there's been little evidence expressed in business language to show the bottom line benefits of sustainability and corporate social responsibility for executives and their companies. Fortunately, that is beginning to change and Bob, after a 34-year career at IBM, has made a second career of proving that companies can profit while being socially and environmentally responsible.

This workshop will help sustainability champions in small, medium and large organizations communicate the business case for sustainability. Workshop participants will receive slides, spreadsheets and sales techniques to ensure they leave with the confidence and competence to handle objections and help others see the relevance of sustainability in their roles.

This workshop is being presented by Road Map 2020, Meewasin Valley Authority, City of Saskatoon, University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Environmental Society.

Cost: $100 + GST
(Includes Lunch)
