Transwest Air Goes Bald!

October 26, 2006: Transwest Air (Saskatoon branch) once again supported C-95 Saskatoon's "Shave Your Bosses Head for Cancer". We put the Aviation spin on it, and turned it into "Shave Your Pilot's Head For Cancer".

This year, Transwest Air Jetstream captain Jamie and Saab captain Rene graciously donated their heads to be shaved.

Before: Jamie (l) and Rene...all smiles and heads full of hair

After: Still smiling...with a little less hair!

Seen above, Rambling Dave from C-95, along with Jamie & Rene, at the Transwest Air Hangar in Saskatoon on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. We raised over $500 for cancer research and had a great time. Thanks again to Rene and Jamie!!

NEWS RELEASE -June 28, 2006

Transwest Air has been a key player in the evacuation of communities in Northern Saskatchewan, ever since fires began threatening the communities of Stony Rapids and Black Lake on the weekend.

The Transwest Air team, in co-operation with Emergency Measures, Community Services and S.E.R.M., has made this a HIGH PRIORITY and has allocated our fleet of aircraft to this evacuation effort. Transwest Air has evacuated residents from Stony Rapids, Black Lake, Fond du Lac and Uranium City. These residents were deemed priority evacuees, because of age and/or medical conditions.

Passengers are being transported to Prince Albert and Saskatoon via Transwest Air's fleet, including SAAB, Jetstream, King Air, Twin Otter and Navajo aircraft.

Because of the decision to assist in this emergency situation, Transwest Air was forced to alter our Scheduled Service flights, and postpone many flights until further notice. Transwest Air wishes to apologize to our loyal customers affected by this decision. We realize that this is a huge inconvenience, but feel that the safety and well being of residents in these Northern communities is our first responsibility. Transwest Air will continue to provide air evacuation as necessary.
