Place of Birth: L'Assomption, Quebec.

Education: Law Degree, Université de Montréal (1973), and Certificate from the Canadian Investment Dealers Association (IDA).

Profession: Lawyer, member of the Canadian Bar and Quebec Bar

Parliamentary Service: Appointed to the Senate March 21, 1995. Elected in 1979, Member for Montréal-Mercier in the House of Commons. From 1979 to 1985, served as, Parliamentary Secretary to the Solicitor General of Canada, Minister of State for Fitness and Amateur Sports and Minister of State for Youth.

Other Appointments: Financial Women’s Association Quebec (2006) Social involvement: a member that has distinguished itself by its involvement in society, be it in the community, sporting or cultural arenas or in advancing the status of women in Quebec - Co-chair (2006 as present) Life Sciences Technopole - McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
