Pursuant to Standing Order 78(2), Mr. Bélanger (Minister for Internal Trade, Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, Minister responsible for Official Languages and Associate Minister of National Defence), seconded by Mr. Brison (Minister of Public Works and Government Services), moved, — That, in relation to Bill C-38, An Act respecting certain aspects of legal capacity for marriage for civil purposes, not more than one further hour shall be allotted to the consideration of the report stage of the Bill and not more than eight hours shall be allotted to the third reading stage of the said Bill; and, at the expiry of the time provided for in this Order for the consideration of the report stage and at the expiry of the time provided for in this Order for the consideration of the third reading stage of the said Bill, any proceedings before the House shall be interrupted, if required for the purpose of this Order, and in turn every question necessary for the disposal of the stage of the Bill then under consideration shall be put and disposed of forthwith and successively, without further debate or amendment.

Conformément à l'article 78(2) du Règlement, M. Bélanger (ministre du Commerce intérieur, leader adjoint du gouvernement à la Chambre des communes, ministre responsable des langues officielles et ministre associé de la Défense nationale), appuyé par M. Brison (ministre des Travaux publics et des Services gouvernementaux), propose, — Que, relativement au projet de loi C-38, Loi concernant certaines conditions de fond du mariage civil, au plus une heure de séance supplémentaire soit accordée aux délibérations à l’étape du rapport de ce projet de loi et au plus huit heures de séance soient accordées aux délibérations à l'étape de la troisième lecture; et qu'à l’expiration du temps prévu dans le présent ordre pour l’étape du rapport et pour l'étape de la troisième lecture de ce projet de loi, toute délibération devant la Chambre soit interrompue, s’il y a lieu, aux fins de cet ordre, et, par la suite, toute question nécessaire pour disposer de l'étape à l'étude à ce moment soit mise aux voix immédiatement et successivement, sans plus ample débat ni amendement.
