Marketing Basics

If you do not have customers, you do not need a product or service! It is essential that you know who your customers are, what they need or want, and how to reach them. These are some of the marketing basics. You must have solid understanding of these if you are going to run a successful business.

The basics include:

  • details of product or service
  • a description of your total and target Market
  • a profile of your typical customers
  • details on your competition
  • an overview of the market environment
  • information on the amount of sales you are forecasting

Details on how:

  • you will price your product or service
  • the product or service will be packaged
  • it will be sold including the channels of distribution
  • you will advertise and promote your product or service

The following module covers the basics from developing your customer profile to promoting your business.
