Informatics Professional Services (IPS) Marketplace

The IPS is an electronic procurement tool to assist federal departments and agencies, in the National Capital Area, in their procurements for informatics professional services, below the NAFTA threshold of $89 000. It is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through Internet.

Eligibility Criteria

This procurement tool is for Canadian Suppliers only.
This procurement tool is for Federal Departments and Agencies in the National Capital Area.

All users will need their  browser (Netscape 4.x or Explorer 5.x) to be configured for Secure Socket Layer, Version 3 (SSL3) and 128-bit encryption keys. Browsers that default to the 40-bit international standard will not be able to access IPS. The encryption algorithm used shall be the Triple Data Encryption Standard (3DES) and must employ as a minimum 2 keys. The default RC4 encryption algorithm is not acceptable for Protected B data.

Summary

The IPS Marketplace is a project to streamline and simplify the contracting process for Informatics Professional Services (IPS) below the NAFTA threshold.

Supplier Registration

To register, suppliers MUST review and complete the Trading Partner Agreement (TPA). The TPA can be viewed from the IPS Web site under the heading Info for Suppliers.Note: The Procurement Business Number (PBN) is a MANDATORY field in the IPS Marketplace. Contracts Canada has a registration system for suppliers who want to do business with the federal government.

The Supplier Registration - or SRI provides for on-line registration allowing government buyers to search for sources of supply for low dollar value opportunities not included in MERX and it can be accessed by all departments and agencies.
