Title
Co-operatives: Solutions to 21st Century Challenges
Abstract In a comparison of the growth patterns of sales and employment for co-operatives and SMEs, it was found that more of the co-operatives experienced growth in sales and employment in the past three years. This publication contains information about the future of co-operatives as well as success stories about co-operatives such as Mountain Equipment Co-op, financial co-ops and aboriginal co-ops. According to a participant in this study, co-operatives "give ordinary people, who have no experience operating a business, a chance to receive the benefits of local ownership."
