Frequently Asked Questions

What are my rights as a victim of crime?
Your rights as a victim of crime will differ, depending on where in Canada you live.  The Department of Justice’s Policy Centre for Victim Issues Web site contains information and research on this subject.
I am doing research on the criminal justice system.  Where can I find some of the latest studies to assist me?
The Department of Justice Research and Statistics Web site contains a wide variety of research reports on many aspects of the criminal justice system.
I think I have been the object of discrimination.  Can the Committee help me out?
The Committee does not deal with complaints of discrimination.  The Canadian Human Rights Commission investigates complaints of discrimination on a daily basis.

For information about how a committee functions, the role of the chair, and how to submit a brief or appear before the committee, please see the general committees Frequently Asked Questions site.
