Test Driving the Public Service Modernization Act (PSMA)
The
"Test Driving the PSMA" workshop, an adapted version
of the PSMA
Accountabilities and Responsibilities (P101) course for the Ontario Region,
has been developed with the cooperation of the Public Service Commission,
Ontario Federal Council and bargaining agents.
This one-day interactive workshop will engage managers, labour representatives
and HR professionals in discussion about the PSMA and how to anticipate and
address the effects of the coming changes.
Scenarios, case studies and exercises will challenge participants and provide
them with the tools to more effectively apply the PSMA in staffing and staff
relations situations. The workshop content is centred on discussion, analysis
and participant input from a variety of public service perspectives that will
contribute greatly to learning.
We are booking the majority of these sessions on-site at various departments
across Ontario. There has also been active interest expressed by inter-departmental
committees to share facilities to deliver these sessions.
To arrange a workshop, please contact Richard Gabourie (416-952-4045) or Judy
Harasti (416-952-6956). To register for workshops already scheduled, please
visit the P101
course page and choose an Ontario Region offering in Toronto.
The workshops are subsidized for the 2005-2006 fiscal year.
For more information on the School's learning
series, please visit the

New Partnerships
The Ontario Region is in the process of establishing a partnership with a college consortium that will be in a position to assist the Ontario Region with the delivery of some of the CSPS products.
We are currently in the process of re-establishing a Regional Learning Network of contacts within the learning community, in order to foster more efficient information sharing and to create an up to date network for efficient marketing of new initiatives.
