160 Years of the Canada Gazette

The book entitled 160 Years of the Canada Gazette commemorates the 160th anniversary of the Canada Gazette that was celebrated in the fall of 2001.

The first part of the book tells the story of a publication that is as much a part of the growth of a nation as it is an historical account of Canada's official newspaper. It is a story that supports the belief that every person has the right to be a part of the laws and regulations that affect Canada's citizens. The first part was written by Carole Kennedy, Director of the Canada Gazette.

The second part contains historical facts that detail the evolution of the Canada Gazette. Originally written and published in 1995 in the electronic journal Government Information in Canada by Martha Foote, a law librarian, it was substantially revised for this book.

To obtain copies of the book, contact bookstores selling government publications or place your order through Public Works and Government Services Canada, Canadian Government Publishing.

To browse a printed copy of the book, consult a local depository library.
