Troubleshooting PDF Files
When attempting to view a PDF file in Internet Explorer 5+ browser and Acrobat Reader 4.0 you may get a blank page.
This problem occurs when Adobe Acrobat Reader opens inside your browser window rather than as separate application.
There are three options that you could try to solve this problem
- Upgrade the Acrobat Reader to the most recent version
- Download the latest version from the Adobe site
for free!
- Save the file
- Position the mouse over the link and right-click (a pop-up menu will appear).
- Click "Save Target As" (IE) / "Save Link As" (Netscape)·
- In the File Name box, type a name for the file (or use the default filename), and then click Save.
- Once the file is saved on your computer, start Acrobat Reader and open the file you have just saved.
- Re-configure your Acrobat reader settings
- Open the Acrobat Reader application
- Click on the "File" item on your menu bar
- Choose "Preferences" item
- Select the "General" preferences
- Go to the "Options" box at the bottom of this window
- De-select the Web Browser Integration item
Please note:
By removing the web browser integration, you will no longer be able to link from your document to other items on the Internet.
You will still be able to follow the internal document links.
