Competition Bureau invites feedback to update its Bulletin on
Corporate Compliance Programs

Ottawa, June 30, 2006 - The Competition Bureau is seeking comments from the business and legal community to update its Bulletin on Corporate Compliance Programs.

First published in 1997, the Bulletin provides the knowledge and tools necessary to understand and comply with the laws under the Bureau’s jurisdiction. The Bulletin is being updated to reflect amendments to the Competition Act, as well as new Bureau publications.

The Bureau wants to ensure its compliance tools are practical and relevant for the business community in today’s economy.  In particular, the Bureau is seeking views on:

  1. The need for corporate compliance training tools;
  2. The need for templates of corporate compliance programs;
  3. The need for the Bureau to monitor and/or approve corporate compliance programs.

The Bureau invites interested parties to provide comments on the Bulletin by e-mail, fax, or regular mail by September 22, 2006. All submissions will be made available to the public and will be posted on the Bureau's Web site, except where confidentiality is specifically requested.
