With increased globalization and international opportunities for research, the process of identifying potential sources of funding can be a time consuming exercise. The Funding Guide for International Science and Technology Cooperation aims to serve as a resource for Canadian researchers and scientists. The mission of the guide is to encourage, facilitate, and promote basic and applied research.

Canadian research institutes, universities and firms.
Eligible Activities
Collaborative research projects; support for visits (from a few weeks up to one year); funding for workshops, seminars, and conferences; and travel support.
Summary
The guide is divided into three sections.
Grants and Bursaries
These grants and bursaries can be accessed directly by research scientists and those which can be accessed indirectly i.e. as partners of industry or university applicants. It contains programs which provide support for the following activities:

collaborative research projects;

support for visits (from a few weeks up to one year);

funding for workshops, seminars, and conferences;

travel support.
Post-doctoral fellowships
These post-doctoral fellowships can be undertaken either in Canada or in a foreign organization.
Major international prizes
These are international prizes for which Canadian researchers may apply.
Funding Guide Committee
The development of this guide was made possible by the Funding Guide Committee which consists of various Canadian organizations.
