The Institute for Marine Biosciences (NRC-IMB) is one of six National Research Council Canada (NRC) laboratories committed to improving the economic performance of Canadian industry through biotechnology research. NRC-IMB focuses on research that will promote the growth and diversification of Canada's aquaculture industry and the development of genomics/bioinformatics technologies.
Eligibility Criteria
- Canadian industry;
- universities;
- other government departments.
NRC-IMB also collaborates and does work for foreign companies, universities and foreign government agencies and departments.
Summary
NRC-IMB's research program includes:
- aquaculture: fish and shellfish health, nutrition and husbandry;
- natural toxins: analytical methods, toxin detection kits, Certified Reference Materials Program;
- advanced research technologies: genomics, bioinformatics, proteomics, advanced mass spectrometry.
