The CMHC Housing Awards Program (HAP), held every two years, recognizes individuals and organizations that have implemented best practices that have improved housing affordability in Canada and assists them to share these best practices across the country.
Eligibility Criteria
This award is available to:

individual or group in the public or private sector of the housing and construction industry;
-
government housing and social service organizations;
-
financial or lending institutions;
-
non-profit groups and housing co-operatives;
-
non governmental organizations, volunteer associations;
-
community groups; and
-
religious and charitable organizations.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status in Canada.
Applications must be sent to CMHC's National Office postmarked by the application deadline (usually April 5).
Summary
After applications are received, an independent external committee, composed of housing experts from across Canada, select the winners.
