Youth Awareness

Youth Awareness is a component of the Youth Employment Strategy of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC). It provides financial assistance to sponsors/employers to design projects that respond to specific labour market requirements and adjustments.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, a sponsor has to be:

a business;
an organization;
an individual;
a public health institution;
an education institution;
a band/tribal council; or
a municipal government.

Summary

The expectation of Youth Awareness is that sponsors, employers, communities and youth will develop a heightened awareness of youth as the workforce of the future.

In Youth Awareness projects there are no participants; however, youth are normally the target audience for these projects.

Project duration varies and may be up to 12 months.

Interested community organizations and participants should contact their local HRSDC office (see list below) or fill the application form which you will find at the HRSDC's Web site.
