"Meeting the Changing Needs" explains the legislative changes now being proposed to update the Small Business Loans Act (SBLA).
These changes are aimed at improving program administration and accountability. This document outlines the rationale, the research and consultations that form their basis.
There is a Brief History of the SBLA program. A Comprehensive Review looks at a series of studies crucial to designing a new program. Future Evaluations focuses on Industry Canada's implementation of a broad program evaluation.
A number of proposals are presented that will help the Program evolve successfully and meet the future needs of small business. An ANNEX provides a summary of specific issues examined under the Comprehensive Review.
