How long do I have to report an accident?

Fatalities and mining accidents must be reported immediately.  All other accidents, regardless of any injury, must be reported to the WCB's Accident Reporting Toll Free number at 1-800-661-0792 within 24 hours.  You have three working days from the time you became aware of an accident to file an Employer's Report of Accident.

Note:  A WCB representative may be sent to the scene of an accident to interview witnesses, examine the site and verify information.

How do I appeal a ruling?

If a claimant or employer does not agree with a decision that the WCB has made, they may file an appeal of that decision.  The Worker's Compensation Board has a two-level appeal process:

1st level - Review Committee
2nd level - Appeals Tribunal

See the Review and Appeals section for more information.
