Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) - Overview
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is based on Part II of the Canada Labour Code (Code). The purpose of Part II is "to prevent accidents and injury to health arising out of, linked with, or occurring in the course of employment to which this Part applies." The OHS provisions of the Code apply to all inter-provincial and international business activities in federally regulated sectors as well as to the federal public service and some employees involved in oil and gas exploration.

- Canada Labour Code, Part II, an overview - Powerpoint Presentation (PDF version)
This presentation containing 38 slides aims to explain the legislation which applies to all the fields of federal jurisdiction. It is advised to jointly use the booklet which gives an outline of the Code without being exhaustive. It would be wise to point out to the participants that this presentation makes only one general overview and that, to know more about the Code, it would be necessary for them to consult the text of law.
