Lifelong Learning Plan - RRSP Withdrawals

The Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) lets you withdraw money from your RRSP (Registered Retirement Savings Plan) to pay for training or education for you or your spouse or common-law partner.

To qualify you must:

  • have an RRSP
  • be a Canadian resident

The LLP student must:

  • Be enrolled (or received an offer to enrol before March of the next year)
    • as a full-time student
    • at a designated educational institution; and
    • in a qualifying educational program
  • Still be enrolled in the program in April of the year after the LLP withdrawal, unless they have already completed the program.

The application forms and more details about the program are available in the Lifelong Learning Plan participation guide.
