Compassionate Care Benefits
As of January 4, 2004, you can receive compassionate care benefits up to a maximum of 6 weeks if you have to be absent from work to provide care or support to a gravely ill family member with a significant risk of death within 26 weeks.

Employment Insurance

Office of the Commissioner of Review Tribunals (OCRT)globe
If you have asked Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) to reconsider a decision made on your file and you are still unhappy with that decision, the OCRT is the first appeal level you can use to attempt to have that decision changed. The Review Tribunal is an independent body and does not act on behalf of the person appealing, the Minister of HRD or any other party to the appeal.

The Québec Pension Plan (QPP) replaces the Canada Pension Plan for people working in Québec. If you are a Québec resident with a disability, you could be entitled to disability benefits under the QPP. Furthermore, if you have a child with a disability, you could be eligible for financial assistance.
