A message was received informing the Commons that on July 20, 2005, at 4:56 p.m., the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, in her capacity as Deputy of the Governor General, signified Royal Assent by written declaration to the following Bills:

Un message est reçu avisant les Communes que, le 20 juillet 2005, à 16 h 56, la très honorable Beverley McLachlin, juge en chef de la Cour suprême du Canada, en sa qualité de suppléant de la Gouverneure générale, a octroyé la sanction royale par déclaration écrite aux projets de loi suivants :
