By unanimous consent, it was ordered, — That, notwithstanding any Standing Order or usual practice of the House, the debate at second reading on Bill C-10, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (minimum penalties for offences involving firearms) and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, be now deemed adjourned; that the House consider a motion in the name of Mr. Nicholson (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Minister for Democratic Reform): "That notwithstanding the adoption at third reading of Bill C-13, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on May 2, 2006, the House take note of Bill C-13"; that, during such debate, no Member shall speak for more than 20 minutes and that following each speech a period not exceeding ten minutes shall be made available, if required, to allow Members to ask questions and comment briefly on matters relevant to the speech and to allow responses thereto; that any Member may indicate to the Speaker that he or she will be dividing his or her time with another Member; and that the motion be deemed withdrawn at the conclusion of Government Orders today.

Du consentement unanime, il est ordonné, — Que, nonobstant tout article du Règlement ou usage habituel de la Chambre, le débat sur la motion portant deuxième lecture du projet de loi C-10, Loi modifiant le Code criminel (peines minimales pour les infractions mettant en jeu des armes à feu) et une autre loi en conséquence, soit réputé ajourné; que la Chambre étudie une motion au nom de M. Nicholson (leader du gouvernement à la Chambre des communes et ministre de la réforme démocratique) : « Que nonobstant l’adoption à la troisième lecture du projet de loi C-13, Loi portant exécution de certaines dispositions du budget déposé au Parlement le 2 mai 2006, la Chambre prenne note du projet de loi C-13 »; que, lors de ce débat, aucun député ne puisse prendre la parole pendant plus de 20 minutes, chacun pouvant cependant indiquer à la présidence qu’il partagera son temps de parole avec un autre député, que chaque intervention sera suivie d’une période maximale de dix minutes au cours de laquelle les députés pourront poser des questions, formuler de brefs commentaires sur les points que leur collègue vient d’aborder et entendre les réponses de ce dernier; et que la motion soit réputée retirée à la fin de la période prévue pour les Ordres émanant du gouvernement aujourd'hui.
