- The Privacy Commissioner
of Canada's Charter challenge against RCMP video surveillance
of public streets will begin this week in the Supreme Court of British
Columbia in Kelowna, with a hearing on the federal Government's
motion to dismiss the case.

- The Privacy Commissioner
of Canada today made public the following letter that he sent to the
Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada on February 20,
2003. He has to date received no reply. The Privacy Commissioner's
Charter challenge against RCMP video surveillance of public streets
will begin next Wednesday, March 12, in the Supreme Court of British
Columbia in Kelowna, with a hearing on the federal Government's
motion to dismiss the case.
