Q-1042 — October 17, 2006 — Mr. Reid (Lanark—Frontenac—Lennox and Addington) — In each of the fiscal years 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, did any government department, agency, or Crown corporation enter into a professional services contract with a vendor whose name matches a name on the current public list of members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery published at http://www.gallery-tribune.ca, and, if so, for each contract of each vendor: (a) to which department, agency, or Crown corporation were the services to be provided; (b) what type of service was to be provided; (c) what was the start date and final end date of the contract; and (d) what was the total amount of payments made to the vendor? M-234 — October 17, 2006 — Mr. Siksay (Burnaby—Douglas) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should immediately strengthen the National Policy on Oiled Birds and Oiled Species at Risk, and all Oil Spill Response Plans by ensuring that: (a) the Canadian Wildlife Service has the mandate and authority to ensure that all migratory birds, species at risk and other wildlife affected by an oil spill are captured, cleaned and rehabilitated; (b) euthanasia be used only when medically necessary; and (c) the responsible party for an oil spill be assessed the full cost of the capture, cleaning and rehabilitation process. Siksay (Burnaby—Douglas) — Que, de l’avis de la Chambre, le gouvernement devrait immédiatement renforcer la Politique nationale visant les oiseaux emmazoutés et les espèces emmazoutées en péril, ainsi que tous les plans d’intervention contre les déversements d’hydrocarbures, en s'assurant que : a) le service canadien de la faune ait le mandat et le pouvoir capturer, nettoyer et remettre en état tous les oiseaux migrateurs, les membres d’espèces en péril et les autres organismes touchés par les déversements de pétrole; b) l’euthanasie soit réservée aux cas de nécessité médicale; c) les responsables du déversement se voient imposer la totalité des frais de la capture, du nettoyage et de la remise en état.
