Tourism businesses cover the full spectrum of tourism products and services, traditional and contemporary: destinations and attractions, accommodations, transportation, food and beverage
establishments, retail outlets and tourism services. Tourism comprises the activities of persons traveling outside their usual environment for leisure, business or other purposes.
Manufacturing
The manufacturing sector comprises companies primarily engaged in the physical or chemical transformation of materials into new products. These products may be finished (i.e. ready to be used or
consumed) or semi-finished (i.e. a material for another business to use in further manufacturing).
Business, Professional, Scientific and Technical Services
This sector comprises firms primarily engaged in activities in which human capital is the major input. These operations make available the knowledge and skills of their employees, often on an
assignment basis.
Business Opportunities Linked To Major Developments
Business opportunities linked to major developments are intended to promote the development of Aboriginal businesses in selected areas of Canada (normally, remote areas). It is possible that a
project that is ineligible under core Program Priorities, may be eligible in the limited circumstances set out below. (This policy is aimed at promotion of small business ventures - it is not
intended for equity investments in large projects.)
Information Technology for Administrative and Operational Purposes
Any business in any sector is eligible for support for information technology for administrative and operational purposes.This policy is intended to support the purchase of information technology for
new businesses that would not otherwise be eligible under ABC's supported activities for new businesses.
