This program is designed to assist Northwest Territories businesses meet pre-establishment or pre-expansion costs when there is a good possibility of increasing regional sales or displacing imported goods or services.
Eligibility Criteria
Northwest Territories businesses and individual entrepreneurs.
Summary
Maximum Contribution
75% of eligible costs, to a maximum of $20,000 total assistance for any one project.
Note: funding may be limited by the appropriations made available to the Department of Industry,
Tourism and Investment (ITI) by the Government of the Northwest Territories.
Limitations
Total assistance for any project shall not exceed $20,000.
Eligible Costs
- Engineering studies or other pre-construction costs associated with a major expansion, if the costs are necessary to decide whether to go ahead
- Feasibility studies
- Business plans
Information Required
There should be a good probability of increasing local or regional sales and/or making things, or providing services that would otherwise come from outside the Northwest Territories.
- Provide the names of any outside consultants, their estimates for fees, printing, translation, freight, legal or other charges
- Development or research plan, outlining the scope of the study or plan
You may be asked to provide other information related to the proposal that the regional panel or the Regional Superintendent of ITI may deem necessary.
