NISHNAWBE ASKI NATION DECADE FOR YOUTH 2000 - 2010
The Youth Business Loan Fund (YBL) is a financial institution established to provide direct business loans to Aboriginal youth of the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation, Treaty #3 and Robinson-Superior/Treaty 1850 areas. The Fund is a self-governing institution that makes decisions independently. NADF-YBL Account Managers and self-assessment guides are available to support young entrepreneurs every step of the way.
Eligibility
- First Nation owned and /or operated enterprises
- Businesses significantly employing Aboriginals
- Businesses that will preserve existing Aboriginal employment
- Projects must be viable
- The owner must be an Aboriginal youth: 35 or under
NADF Youth Business Loans
- The maximum loan is $15,000 - interest rate @ 8.5%
NACCA/First Nation Youth Loans
- Maximum loan is $3000
- Equity loans and business support
Any Aboriginal youth who is 35 years old or under is eligible, as are businesses, corporations and partnerships where at least 51% is owned and controlled by an Aboriginal youth.
