ON-SITE

The ON-SITE Program is winding down and new applications for placements or any resumes are no longer accepted.

ON-SITE is an industry-government partnership that assists Canadian organizations by providing educated professionals who gain career-building experience, skills and contacts, while collecting Employment Insurance benefits.

Eligibility Criteria

Most employers in certain provinces (see Eligible Area below).

Eligible Area

The provinces of Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Eligible Activities

Eligible activities include:

  • environmental management;
  • energy management;
  • information technology;
  • occupational health and safety;
  • quality management.

Summary

This program is administered by Energy Pathways Inc. (EPI)

Work Term Duration

A typical ON-SITE work term lasts for six months.

Employee Wages

Participants placed with an ON-SITE employer continue to receive Employment Insurance benefits while working, and are increased (if applicable) to $413 per week ($350 in Manitoba). These wages are paid by the Job Creation Partnership program of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada or, in some provinces, through provincial programs.

ON-SITE Employer Charges

Employers are charged $2600 per ON-SITE placement to cover ON-SITE administrative costs.

Additional Information

The day-to-day management and supervision of employee activities, as well as the direction and scope of the work, are the responsibility of the ON-SITE employer.

ON-SITE is sponsored by the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters in partnership with HRSDC.
