Aboriginal Skills and Employment Partnership (ASEP) is a nationally managed program geared to providing Aboriginal people with the skills they need to participate in economic opportunities such as northern mining, oil and gas, forestry, and hydro development projects across Canada. Announced on October 3, 2003, ASEP is a five-year, $85-million initiative. Its overall objective is sustainable employment for Aboriginal people in major economic industries, leading to lasting benefits for Aboriginal communities, families and individuals. More information about ASEP can be found in our fact sheet. As of February 2006, $85 million for this initiative has been fully invested in nine ASEP projects to design, develop and deliver community based training, employment programs and capital projects. At this time, we are not accepting additional proposals or applications. Additional information on Operational Information and Terms and Conditions is also available online.
