InNOVAcorp helps early stage Nova Scotia companies commercialize their technologies and succeed in the global marketplace.
 
The organization focuses on high growth potential early stage companies with innovative proprietary technology and/or service offerings. Key industries include: life sciences, information and communications technology, energy, advanced manufacturing and aerospace.
 
InNOVAcorp’s High Performance Incubation (HBi)™ business model fosters innovation entrepreneurship and commercialization. The power of HPi results from the integration of three critical resources: incubation, mentoring and investment.

1. Business Incubation

InNOVAcorp'sincubation facilities – the Technology Innovation Centre and the BioScience Enterprise Centre – provide the environment needed to help emerging technology companies mature. The facilities deliver more than office, lab and industrial space; they also offer a comprehensive blend of business services, resources and synergies that result in entrepreneurial success.

2. Mentoring

InNOVAcorpprovides hands-on business advisory services, tailored to meet the unique – and evolving – needs of early stage technology companies. A network of advisors, mentors and service providers complements the organization’s in-house business expertise. Examples of tailored assistance include: fine-tuning business plans, building and refining marketing and sales strategies, completing patent searches and licensing agreements, and positioning companies for potential investors.

3. Investment

InNOVAcorp is an active investor, managing seed and early stage investments in promising emerging Nova Scotia technology companies. Investments are leveraged through alliances with other venture capital investors and financial institutions. On behalf of the Province of Nova Scotia , InNOVAcorp manages the Nova Scotia First Fund.
