Aboriginal Youth Business Fund

Apeetogosan (Metis) Development Inc.

Apeetogosan (Métis) Development Inc. is dedicated to assisting the Métis and Non-Status Indian people of Alberta to achieve economic self sufficiency through the successful creation and operation of their own business enterprises. One such way is through the Aboriginal Youth Business Fund.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Métis or Non-Status Indian individuals from the ages of 18 to 35 years
  • Resident of Alberta

Summary

We can provide Métis and Non-Status Indian youth entrepreneurs with commercial loans with preferential features like the following:

  • Pre & Post Lending Business Advice.
  • Loans up to $15,000.
  • Interest rate of only 8.5%.
  • For expansions, acquisitions, or the establishment of new businesses.  
  • Those requiring loans in excess of $15,000 would apply for the Aboriginal Business Canada sponsored program that could provide a contribution up to a maximum of $75,000 for qualifying applicants (for more information call our office at 780 452-7951).

Loan Application Process:
Complete the loan application. Call our office to obtain a copy and to discuss your idea.

Information provided to Apeetogosan is kept confidential.

  • Include your business plan and any available financial statements and other relevant support documents.
  • Submit the above to our office for evaluation and produce additional information that the loan officers may require. The turn around time for a loan application depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information submitted. A meeting or site visit may be required at this stage.
  • We have information and outlines available that can help you prepare a business plan. Our professional business consultants can also assist on a fee for services basis (Funding may be available).
  • Once all the information has been obtained, the loan officer will make a recommendation for approval (decline) or amendment of the loan.
