Subject: Invitation to Comment on Draft Regulatory Document, S-336, CNSC Safeguards and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Reporting Requirements
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) is issuing for public review and comment, Draft Regulatory Standard, S-336, CNSC Safeguards and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Reporting Requirements.
The purpose of this regulatory standard, when incorporated into a licence or other legally enforceable instrument, is to provide requirements for the recording and reporting of accountancy data related to controlled nuclear substances, including special fissionable and source material, controlled nuclear equipment and controlled nuclear information. This document will replace AECB‑1049, Reporting Requirements for Fissionable and Fertile Substances.
The CNSC invites interested persons to assist in the further development of this draft regulatory document by commenting in writing on the documents content and potential usefulness. Please respond by December 29, 2006. Direct your comments to the postal or e-mail address below, referencing file 1-8-8-336.
The CNSC will take the comments received on S-336 into account when developing the regulatory standard further. Any comments submitted including names and affiliations, may be made public.
