Emergency Management

In case of a nuclear emergency, call the CNSC Duty Officer emergency telephone line at (613) 995-0479*. This line is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

*Note: this number is to be used only for reporting nuclear emergencies. For general information or licensing requests please refer to Contact Us.

All organizations must be well-prepared to respond to emergencies. In the unlikely event of a nuclear emergency, the overall responsibility for the federal nuclear emergency plan rests with Health Canada. The CNSC's emergency preparedness and response involves cooperation and planning with licensees, municipalities, provincial and federal government agencies, and international organizations.
