Draft Screening Report
Proposed Modifications to the Operation of the Blind
River Refinery Incinerator, Cameco
Corporation, Blind River, Ontario
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) invites public comment on
the Draft Screening Report concerning the Environmental Assessment of Cameco’s
proposed modification to the Blind River Refinery Incinerator, Blind River,
Ontario. This environmental assessment is being conducted pursuant to the
requirements of the Canadian Environmental
Assessment Act.
The Draft Screening Report is based on an Environmental Assessment Screening
Template provided by CNSC staff and populated by Cameco with information
from the technical studies for the proposal that were delegated to Cameco.
Interested parties should address their written comments to the CNSC environmental
assessment project manager at the address indicated below. The public comment
period ends August 14, 2006. CNSC staff will review and address all
comments received before finalizing the Screening Report and forwarding it
to the Commission for approval and decision under the Canadian Environmental
Assessment Act. All comments received regarding the Screening Report
are considered public information.
Copies of the Draft Screening Report, the Environmental Assessment Study
