REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
Screening Report – Phase II, Pickering Waste Management Facility
(PWMF- PhaseII)
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) invites public comment on the
Screening Report concerning the Environmental Assessment of Phase II of the
Waste Management Facility on the Pickering Nuclear Site near Pickering, Ontario.
This environmental assessment is being conducted pursuant to the requirements of
the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.
The public comment period ends on January 26, 2004.
The Screening Report is based on an Environmental Assessment Study Report
prepared by Ontario Power Generation in response to Environmental Assessment
Guidelines approved and issued by the CNSC on April 10th, 2003.
Interested parties should address their written comments to the CNSC
environmental assessment project manager at the address indicated below. CNSC
staff will review and address all comments received before submitting the
Screening Report to the CNSC for approval and decision under the
Canadian
Environmental Assessment Act. All comments received regarding the Screening
Report will be public information.
