Draft Screening Report
Proposed Bruce A Refurbishment for Life Extension and Continued Operations Project - Bruce A Nuclear Generating Station

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) invites public comment on the Draft Screening Report concerning the Environmental Assessment of the proposed Bruce A Refurbishment for Life Extension and Continued Operations Project at Bruce A Nuclear Generating Station in the Municipality of Kincardine near Tiverton, Ontario. This environmental assessment is being conducted pursuant to the requirements of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.

The Draft Screening Report is based on an Environmental Assessment Study Report prepared by Bruce Power in response to Environmental Assessment Guidelines approved and issued by the Commission on July 14, 2005.

Interested parties should address their written comments to the CNSC environmental assessment project manager at the address indicated below. The public comment period ends February 10, 2006. CNSC staff will review comments and address all comments received before finalizing the Screening Report and forwarding it to the Commission for approval and decision under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. All comments received regarding the Screening Report are considered public information.
