Request for Public Comment - Draft Environmental Assessment Guidelines

Refurbishment and continued operation of the Pickering B Nuclear Generating Station Units 5, 6, 7 and 8

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) invites public comment on the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) Guidelines for the proposal from Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to refurbish and continue to operate the Pickering B Nuclear Generating Station Units 5, 6, 7 and 8 until about 2060 in Pickering, Ontario.

The public comment period on the draft EA Guidelines closes on October 13, 2006. Interested parties should forward their written comments on the draft EA Guidelines via mail, e-mail or facsimile, to the attention of the Environmental Assessment Specialist, by that date.

CNSC staff will review comments prior to revising the draft EA Guidelines. CNSC staff will review comments and then finalize the draft EA Guidelines. All comments received on the draft EA guidelines are considered public.
