Request for Public Comment
Screening Report – MDS Nordion Waste Diversion Program
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) invites public comment on the
Screening Report concerning the Environmental Assessment of the MDS Nordion
Waste Diversion Program. This environmental assessment is being conducted
pursuant to the requirements of the Canadian
Environmental Assessment Act.
The public comment period ends on May 17th, 2004.
The Screening Report is based on an Environmental Assessment Study Report
prepared by MDS Nordion in response to Environmental Assessment Guidelines
approved and issued by the CNSC on December 12th, 2003.
Interested parties should address their written comments to the CNSC
environmental assessment project manager at the address indicated below. CNSC
staff will review and address all comments received before submitting the
Screening Report to the CNSC for approval and decision under the Canadian
Environmental Assessment Act. All comments received regarding the Screening
Report will be public information.
