Madam Justice Charron, B.A., LL.B. Born in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, on March 2, 1951. Married to William Blake on December 31, 1984. One child: Gabriel Poliquin; two stepsons: Michael and Steven Blake. Educated at Carleton University, B.A., 1972; University of Ottawa, LL.B., 1975. Law Society of Upper Canada, LL.D. (Hon.), 2004; Nipissing University, LL.D. (Hon.), 2005. Called to the Ontario Bar, 1977. Private law practice, Lalonde & Chartrand, 1977-80. Assistant Crown Attorney, Judicial District of Ottawa-Carleton, 1980-85. Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, 1985-88. District Court Judge and Local Judge of the High Court of Ontario, 1988-90. Judge to the Ontario Court of Justice (General Division), 1990-95. Associate Director, National Judicial Institute, 1994-96. Judge to the Court of Appeal for Ontario, 1995-2004. Deputy Judge to the Nunavut Court of Justice, 1999-2004.
