Thank you for your interest in the
collections of the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation
(CMCC).

The Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum
are pleased to encourage the responsible use of their collections.
If you wish to use, reproduce or transmit any image, text or
part of the collections for purposes other than personal use
(such as for a book, brochure, CD or DVD, film or video, website,
poster, exhibition, etc.) you must first obtain written
permission from the CMCC.
Please submit a written request with the following information:
- Your name
- Name of your institution or company
- Postal address
- Fax and telephone numbers
- List of the material you wish to use including the photo
(PCDN) and catalogue numbers
- Detailed description of your project, such as: title of your
publication, program or product; name of publisher or producer;
print run; sale price; date of production; language; rights
required (Canadian, worldwide, etc.).
Requests can be sent by email, fax or regular mail. However,
permission grants will be sent either by fax or regular mail.
Please be sure to include your fax number for a speedy reply.
If the copyright on the work is not completely controlled by the
Museum, the user must obtain written permission from the
copyright owner and provide the Museum with a copy of the
permission before the material can be used.
Please note that user fees are applicable and will vary
according to the planned usage. Unless otherwise advised,
permission to use is granted on a non-exclusive and one-time
basis only. The credit line, as specified by the CMCC, is
mandatory.
When ordering a photograph of an artwork or artifact, whether in
a traditional format (slides, color transparencies, photos) or
as a digital image, please specifiy the format required.
We will be pleased to reply without delay. However, due to the
number of requests, a period of ten days or more could be
necessary to process your request.
