Experience history through the Historica Heritage Fair Gatineau, Quebec, April 13, 2006 — The Canadian Museum of Civilization (CMC) is proud to host the 2006 Ottawa Historica Fair. This annual regional fair showcases 140 projects by students from local and private schools in several of the region's school boards. History and heritage enthusiasts will present their projects about historical events, milestones and achievements, and Canadian heroes. During the fair, a selection of student projects will be chosen to represent the Ottawa area at both the National Historica Fair this July in Halifax and at the Ontario Provincial Historica Fair in the Niagara region in May.
Students will also participate in workshops where they will learn more about Canadian history through games as they explore the Canada Hall and the Canadian Postal Museum. Exhibitors from the heritage community will be present to promote their programmes and services during the fair.
Historica's Heritage Fairs Programme is a multi-media learning initiative developed to increase public awareness and interest in Canadian history.
