Clash of Empires Walk & Talk tours at the Canadian War MuseumOttawa, Ontario, September 15, 2006 — In conjunction with Clash of Empires: The War That Made Canada 1754–1763, the Canadian War Museum is offering two of its popular Walk & Talk expert tours of this special exhibition this fall.
More than 250 years ago, French, British and First Peoples collided in a historic struggle for North America. This exhibition presents the story of the first global war, which erupted in the backwoods of Pennsylvania, spread to the gates of Québec City and decided Canada's fate.
History – Sunday, September 24 at 3 p.m. (1 p.m. in French)
Dr. D. Peter MacLeod
Dr. MacLeod, the CWM's expert in pre-Confederation Canadian history, will lead visitors on a voyage of discovery of the Seven Years' War and its importance in the development of Canada.
Art – Sunday, October 29 at 3 p.m. (1 p.m. in French)
Dr. Laura Brandon
Dr. Brandon, the CWM's Historian, Art and Memorials, will lead visitors on a tour of the artwork featured in the Clash of Empires exhibition. Some of these works have not been seen in North America since the Seven Years' War, making this a once in a lifetime opportunity!
All tours are free with admission, but are limited to 25 participants. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event. The exhibition runs until Sunday, November 12, 2006.
